Komchuca SCOBY Update: One Week

It has only taken one week for my Kombucha SCOBY to grow to 1/4 inch thick, I predict by two weeks I'll be starting to brew my own Kombucha.  Some may be wondering why we add so much sugar to the tea and it's because the SCOBY uses the sugar to grow.  By the time your SCOBY is ready to add to your brew mix, all of the sugar will be consumed by the SCOBY, so fear not sugar avoiders.  My Kombucha reserve that is growing the SCOBY is green because I used GT's Multigreen instead of original.  If you are a beginner Kombucha brewer and are afraid of mold, I recommend using an original Kombucha drink for growing your SCOBY so the green liquid and green patches on the SCOBY do not confuse you with mold.  If you have mold, you must throw out your concoction and start again.
Normally the green on top would be worrisome but since I used a multigreen Kombucha to start the SCOBY, I am not worried, it is left over from the Kombucha reserve.
