When in doubt... throw a fried egg on it!

I recently had an experience with a fried egg that will forever shape the way I use eggs. I was on a trip to Half Moon Bay, CA and came across this quaint deli next to a gourmet food shop. My mother and I were starving and dying for some caffeine so we decided to take a look at the menu. After reading their entire menu, my eyes kept returning to the most peculiar breakfast item, Breakfast pizza. My mother and I obviously could not turn down this once in a lifetime treat and ordered it immediately. As I sat on the patio waiting for my food, I couldn't help but wonder how delicious this meal was going to be and then voila, right as I could not wait any longer the waitress served us a sourdough cheese pizza (with sauce) and a fried egg on top. I was hesitant but intuitively knew this was going to be one amazing bite. The richness of the yolk and the warmth of the pizza with the combination of tomato sauce was unreal! I've always enjoyed fried eggs but clearly was closed minded to the richness they can add to a meal. Whether you throw an egg on top of pizza, steak or even tomato soup, fried eggs add a texture and taste that you can not help but indulge in.
