Chia Seed- What is it?

Chia Seed also know as Salvia Hispanica L. has been called nature's most powerful food.  It is an ancient grain, cherished by the Aztecs for stamina and well being.  It has 5x more calcium than milk.  More Omega 3 than flax.  It is an excellent source of dietary fiber, iron and other minerals.  It is low glycemic , delivering its nutrients slowly to impact energy and well-being throughout your day. Some uses of chia are to stir it into sauces to thicken them.  Use in smoothies, stir into oatmeal, granola, yogurt or a drink.  You can use it in place of eggs in muffins, cakes and breads.  Chia will not impact the taste of what you are using it along with but will thicken whatever you are making.
